Fundraising 2020

You might be wondering why we're still fundraising when we already have a skatepark. The truth is there is still quite a bit of work to do.

The McNair Skatepark Association Goals for 2020 are as follows:

Construct a retaining wall, steps and a sidewalk around the park. This is to keep erosion from happening and causing damage to the park, protect our asset.

Lighting - We are hoping for more lighting around the park for added safety during the evening hours, and to provide a bit more riding time when the days are short.

Sprinklers - If we're going to do any landscaping, it needs to be maintained. Grass and trees will need to be watered.

Landscaping - after a retaining wall is built, we'd like to put down some grass to have a nice place for parents and fans to watch. 

Maintenance - A good skatepark should be ridden, and even concrete does break on occasion. We anticipate needing the occasional repair as well as routine maintenance such as sealing the concrete. Hopefully we won't have to deal with any grafitti removal but if we do we'd like to be proactive and get to it quickly. (If you need a place to display your art, please ask us for a board you can paint for our annual fundraiser!)

Security - For the security of all involved, would like to install cameras to monitor the park during off hours.
